Company overview
NetEnt develops online casino games, mainly video slots, and has been part of Evolution since 2020. When Evolution announced its offer for the company in June 2020, it described NetEnt as a supplier of games and system solutions that had driven the market since its inception in 1996. At that time NetEnt employed around 1,100 people in Malta, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Kyiv, Krakow, Sofia, Gibraltar and New Jersey, and its B shares were listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. Evolution's timeline records the acquisition of NetEnt, NetEnt Casino and Red Tiger in 2020.
The NetEnt catalogue includes several long-running slots. Its game pages list Blood Suckers with a release date of November 2009, Gonzo's Quest in March 2010 and Starburst in January 2012. Gonzo's Quest uses NetEnt's Avalanche mechanic, in which symbols fall into place and cascade after a payout rather than spinning. Dead or Alive 2, released in April 2019, offers a choice of three free spins modes.
Alongside slots, NetEnt lists RNG table games such as Blackjack, Roulette Advanced, European, French and American Roulette, and Baccarat Pro.
The netent.com site now presents NetEnt as part of the Evolution group. Its footer states that Evolution Gaming Malta Limited is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority and that Evolution Group is licensed and regulated in a number of jurisdictions.
